STARBRIGHT THEATER
Renter Briefing
BE OUR GUEST
We're thrilled to welcome you as our guests at the Starbright Theater! We kindly ask that you treat the space with respect and care. As you come in, take a look around -- the theater is well-maintained and in great shape. Our simple request is this: at the end of each day, please return the theater to us in the same excellent condition!
LET’S DECORATE
Avoid using push-pins or tape to attach anything to the walls, because that will damage the paint. Any wall damage will be deducted from your security deposit. For hanging posters, pictures, or decorations in the foyer, please utilize our Gallery Rail System. Gallery Rail is by far the safest method, and a slightly risky alternative is 3M Command Strips. Just be sure to precisely follow the removal instructions to prevent wall damage. Please never attach anything to the colorful mural wall!
REFRESHMENTS RULE
Feel free to enjoy food and drinks in the foyer and dressing rooms. However, please refrain from bringing any food or drinks into the theater itself. The only exception is bottled water, but it must be securely sealed. It's gotta be spill-proof even if you hold it upside down over your head!
WATER AND ELECTRICITY DON'T MIX
Keep water away from the stage area, as it's filled with electrical equipment and wiring. Mixing water and electricity poses serious risks. Let's avoid accidents by keeping water far from the stage.
WE KNOW THE ROPES
Backstage is filled with lots of theatrical equipment. For your safety, please avoid touching any ropes, wires or buttons. Only Starbright staff should handle backstage equipment! Safety is key!
TAKING A LEAP
The stage has stairs on both sides for your convenience and safety. Climbing or jumping off the front of the stage is not allowed. Someone took a leap once and ended up with a twisted ankle. Let's avoid that scenario altogether.
A SPOTLESS REPUTATION
All our stage curtains are treated with a fire-retardant solution, which is great for safety but not so great for stains. Please refrain from ever touching the red or black curtains, because any contact tends to leave unsightly marks.
THE $10,000 FINGERPRINT
The white wall at the back of our stage functions as a movie screen, coated with a special paint. Avoid any contact with the white surface. Leaving a fingerprint or a scratch will cost nearly $10,000 to repaint. Keep your distance – if you can reach out and touch the white wall, you're too close!
FURNITURE'S FASHIONABLE FOOTWEAR
When you're setting up scenery, props or equipment on stage, remember that felt pads are required on the bottom of every single item. This keeps the floor and your security deposit intact!
THEATER'S YOUNGEST STARS
The Venue Rental Contract outlines a crucial policy for the safety and well-being of all minors: Every young star needs the watchful eye of an adult chaperone at ALL times. For a group of minors between the ages of 8 and 18, we require the presence of one chaperone for every eight youngsters. For the littlest guests under the age of 8, the ratio tightens to one adult per six children.
WE ARE HERE TO ASSIST YOU
The Starbright staff is here to help. Before using adhesive tape on the stage, plugging anything into outlets, or setting up a camera -- please consult us. Together, we'll keep everything safe and ensure your event is a resounding success!
